Reckless driving witness turns out to be suspect 25 Apr 12

A Montgomery man has been discovered as the suspect in a reckless driving incident he reported to authorities last month.

Lloyd Joseph Michael Skluzacek, 30, identified himself as Joe Skluzacek when he called the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Department on March 16 to report an erratic driver that he believed was intoxicated.

The next day, authorities connected Skluzacek to the alleged incident as the driver of the vehicle, after a third party told the sheriff’s office about a black SUV that ran off the road and over multiple trees.

Authorities suspected Skluzacek made a false 911 call to evade and elude law enforcement.

Skluzacek’s girlfriend told a sheriff’s deputy he had told her about the accident but asked for her help for an alibi.

On March 18, Skluzacek admitted the incident to the deputy. He has been charged with reckless driving, failure to stop for an accident to property, and falsely reporting criminal conduct of others to law enforcement. Skluzacek pleaded not guilty on April 17 to all charges and is scheduled to appear at a pre-trial hearing on June 12.
