Three men, including one from Lakeville, have been charged with trafficking cocaine in the Northfield area.

The charges come following several undercover buys of cocaine at the Flying J Travel Plaza over the past two weeks by the Rice County Drug Task Force and Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force.

Adrian Michael Thomas, 21, of St. Paul; Mauricio DeJesus Garcia, 21, of Lakeville; and Leobardo Sandoval, Jr., 23, of Rosemount are each facing multiple charges, including first-degree felony charges related to drug sale and possession.

All first-degree charges carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and/or a $1 million fine.

Sandoval and Garcia remain in the Rice County Jail; Thomas posted bail and was released. All three are scheduled to appear again in court on May 1.
