Latest ‘Top Teacher’ award given to Shakopee High School educator 27 Apr 12

Another area educator has been named a Fox 9 Top Teacher.

Shakopee High School teacher Autumn Lee received the award Wednesday.

Lee created and teaches a high school program called Life Evolves Around Possibilities, which is geared toward bilingual students who will be the first in their families to go to college. Lee says she teaches about college applications, FAFSA paperwork, and daily college life.

Her students nominated her for the award. They say she inspires, encourages, and supports them to continue their education beyond high school.

As part of the prize, Lee will receive $900 to use for her school, and a Subway party 100 of her closest friends.

Fox 9’s Top Teacher award is given to nine teachers around the state each year.
