A Chanhassen woman got an unwelcome surprise at home this week when she had to fend off burglar who broke into her house in the middle of the day.
On April 25, Carver Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on Santa Vera Drive for a report of burglary and assault. The break-in happened around 10:45 a.m.
The Sheriff’s Office told the Chaska Herald it appeared the suspect forced entry into the home through the locked front door.
The woman at home fought the assailant and was able to escape. The suspect eventually fled the home in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, 6’1” tall with a stocky build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and khaki colored cargo pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
