Man faces DWI charges after injuring himself in one-vehicle crash 01 May 12

A Waterville man injured in a one-car crash in March is scheduled to appear in court this month on drunken driving charges.

Nathan John LeBrun, 23, of Waterville, has been cited for fourth degree driving while impaired and is scheduled to appear in Le Sueur County District Court on May 16.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on March 16, emergency responders were called to the scene of an accident south of New Prague.

Authorities say LeBrun’s vehicle ran through a “T” in the road, became airborne, struck a parked vehicle at a residence and then struck a garage. LeBrun was airlifted from the scene and treated at North Memorial Hospital for multiple broken bones in his face.

A blood test taken from LeBrun at the hospital showed he had a blood alcohol content of .15, almost two times the legal limit for driving in Minnesota.

If convicted, Le Brun could face up to 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
