GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – An adult-themed store that was blocked from opening in Grand Forks has now been shut down in neighboring East Grand Forks, Minn.
City Administrator Scott Huizenga says some of the products in Fantasy’s are too sexually oriented for the city’s commercial district. The store’s owners have been told they will have to move to an industrial zone.
Fargo-based Fantasy’s sells lingerie, costumes and adult toys. The owners wanted to open in Grand Forks in a building a block away from an elementary school, but city leaders in response restricted where sexually oriented businesses could operate.
Owners Jim and Kim Patterson quietly opened their East Grand Forks location on Monday. They say they’re waiting now for legal advice from their lawyers.
