Minn. man admits beating woman he kept captive 08 Jun 12

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – A St. Paul man has pleaded guilty to holding his girlfriend captive in their home and beating her in an attack prosecutors say lasted three days.

Twenty-two-year-old Branden Fourre pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree assault and kidnapping. He faces nearly eight years in prison when he’s sentenced July 26th.

A Ramsey County Attorney’s office spokesman says Fourre admitted he terrorized the woman, duct-taped her and kept her in their basement, and caused bruises that covered her from head to toe.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Fourre also will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

The victim told police last January that Fourre had accused her of being unfaithful and then detained her in their home for three days.
