1 person dies in Fergus Falls apartment fire 27 Jun 12

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (AP) – Fire at an apartment building in Fergus Falls has claimed a life and injured a second person.

Firefighters were called to the Sunrise Apartments about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire Chief Mark Hovland says one person died in the fire and one person was injured while trying to get back into the building. He says one person jumped from a second-story window, but was not injured.

Firefighters dealt with exploding oxygen tanks in one of the apartment units.

KBRF radio reports the Red Cross and Salvation Army are assisting about 43 people displaced by the fire.
