A Hampton woman was arrested on Monday July 2 in Hastings on a nationwide arrest warrant for offering a forged check from a check book that she had allegedly stole from her former employer.
Kristian Daeonte Tanner, 29, was charged in Dakota County District Court with offering a forged check, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a fine of $10,000.
According to the criminal complaint, Tanner allegedly stole a check book from a Burnsville woman for whom she worked as a nanny and tried to pass one of the checks at the Dakota County license center to transfer a car title.
Tanner appeared in Dakota County District Court on Tuesday and was released. An omnibus hearing is scheduled for October 20 in Hastings.
