A Lonsdale man is being charged for sexually assaulting a child who is under 13 years old.
Brandon Lee Taylor, 18, is being charged in Rice County District Court with two counts of sexual assault – first degree criminal sexual conduct/penetration or contact with a victim under the age of 13, a felony which carries a penalty of 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. The second charge – second degree criminal sexual conduct/engaging in sexual conduct with a victim under the age of 16, a felony that carries a penalty of 25 years in prison and a $35,000 fine.
According to the Rice County criminal complaint the victim told authorities that Taylor touched the victim multiple times between June 24 and June 27, 2012.
During police questioning Taylor told police that the victim climbed into his bed at night and said he thought he was “dreaming” and that he thought it was his “girlfriend”. Taylor said that if he were fully awake “it wouldn’t have happened.”
Taylor later told police that he had engaged in sexual conduct for about 20 seconds then stopped once he realized it wasn’t his girlfriend.
