(Minneapolis, MN) — Forty-five-year-old Amy Senser was sentenced to nearly three-and-a-half years in prison today (Mon) in the hit-and-run death of Anousoune Phanthavong last August in Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County judge denied a motion to stay Senser’s sentence pending an appeal and she’ll have to report to the women’s correctional facility in Shakopee. Senser was crying and at the end of sentencing apologized to the victim’s family. Several victim impact statements were read, and a niece said Phantahavong is the kind of person who would have forgiven Senser.
Her husband, Joe, was not in court today.
