Flood-Relief Special Session Planned For Late August 12 Jul 12

(St. Paul, MN)  –  Governor Dayton and legislative leaders say they plan to hold a special session in late August to approve state assistance for storm- and flood-stricken areas of Minnesota.  The governor says, quote, “we’re gonna come through” for people who have been severely and Dayton says, quote, “there are a lot of ‘em.”  He says they’re asking the federal government to approve individual assistance for homeowners but state assistance is also possible.  He says to help affected cities and counties the state could also pick up 25-percent of the cost of infrastructure repairs, the portion which the federal government would not pay for.
