America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education 10 Oct 12

Farmington Schools will be presented Friday with a $10,000 grant from America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.

Grow Communities allows farmers to nominate their public school district to apply for a $10,000 or $25,000 merit-based grant for math and science education. In Minnesota eight schools will receive $95,000, nationwide more than $2.3 million will be awarded to schools across 39 states.

Farmington, which accepted the grant during a special presentation before its home football game on Friday, plans to use the funds to purchase a number of iPads for its classrooms.

Grow Rural Education is part of the Monsanto Funds’ mission to support rural America and highlight the contributions farmers make to their communities.
