The Hayward, Wis.,-based Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame has announced that Minnesota’s own “Tackle” Terry Tuma has been named an inductee of the Hall’s 2013 class. On August 13-15, 2012, The Hall’s Awards committee met in Hayward and selected Tuma and 15 other anglers for 2013 enshrinement. The 11-member committee selected Tuma for induction as a Legendary Communicator for his 40;year career in the fishing industry. To qualify, inductees must have developed a unique communication means or avenue, which was instrumental in introducing fishing to the public or in maintaining public interest or awareness of the sport.
Tackle Terry or T3 as some know him, was born in Northfield and has been fishing since day one. Other Minnesotans in the 2013 class include Al Maas, Bill Lindner, and Dan Sura. The Hall will formally induct these men during a ceremony in March at the Northwest Sportshow in the Minneapolis Convention Center.
KCHK/KRDS is proud to feature Tackle Terry Tuma every Wednesday before 8am.
