San Jose’s Joe Thornton scored a second-period-goal to lead the Sharks to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild last night in California. Former Wild player Martin Havlat also scored for the Sharks, who turned in their sixth straight win. Antti Niemi saved 31 shots for San Jose, which improved to 19-11-and-6. Charlie Coyle and Dany Heatley scored for the Wild, who are tied atop the Northwest Division standings with the Vancouver Canucks with 44 points. Niklas Backstrom made 29 saves in the loss. Minnesota is 21-13-and-2. The Wild are at Los Angeles tonight.
