Mark Wetsch pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to holding up the Rolling Hills Bank in Brewster on Jan. 3, 2012, the robbery that led to his capture. Wetsch was arrested later that day while driving near St. Peter.
The Star Tribune reports Wetsch represented himself at the hearing, although he was accompanied by his standby attorney.
U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson says Wetsch still must face two back-to-back trials beginning June 3 on 12 other robberies.
Wetsch got his “Man in Black” nickname because he allegedly held up some of the Minnesota banks in 2011, wearing all-black clothing.
