David Soller, age 89 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m, Wednesday, August 21 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. There will be a 6:30 p.m. Veteran’s prayer service and Fireman’s prayer service. Visitation will continue Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Lutheran Home Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
David was born at home in Carver County on August 5, 1924 to Anthony & Anna (Buesgens) Soller. He was raised on the farm near Belle Plaine. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the War, he married Cora Schultz on November 15, 1947 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, MN. David worked as a custodian in the Belle Plaine School system for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He also worked road construction in the summer time for many years. David enjoyed his lawn work and horses. He spent 26 years on the Belle Plaine Fire Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Cora; children, Nancy (Dennis) Riesgraf of Hibbing, MN; David Soller of Chicago, Ill; Kevin (Michelle) Soller of Belle Plaine, MN and Bob (Kathy) Soller of Belle Plaine, MN. 6 Grandchildren; Nicholas & Kristin Riesgraf, Stephanie (Jeff) Norris, David (Kyle) Soller, Ryan (Kailey) Soller, Brandon Soller & Kelly Soller. Great-Grandchildren; Carson Norris, Cassidy Norris & Ailyn Soller. Sisters; Dolores Thomason of Belle Plaine, MN & Darlene (Don) Antonson of Bloomington, MN. Brother, Robert Soller of Belle Plaine, MN. Many Nieces and Nephews . He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
