PREDATORS KEEP WILD WINLESS 09 Oct 13

The Predators scored three times in the first period and made it stand up in a 3-2 victory over the Wild in Nashville.  Filip Forsberg and Colin Wilson each lit the lamp within a minute of each other on the power play and former Wild player Eric Nystrom later added a penalty shot goal for Nashville.  Pekka Rinne halted 32 shots for the Preds, who moved to 1-and-2.  Zach Parise scored his third goal of the year on the power play for Minnesota and Jared Spurgeon added a PP strike of his own in defeat.  Niklas Backstrom allowed two goals on five shots before departing with an injury after a collision with teammate Keith Ballard and Nashville’s Eric Nystrom. Head coach Mike Yeo would simply call it a “lower body” injury.  Josh Harding replaced Backstrom and halted 19 shots as the Wild fell to 0-1-and-2.  Minnesota hosts Winnipeg tomorrow.
