Blizzard warning for parts of Minnesota 20 Feb 14

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – A relentless winter delivers another powerful storm in Minnesota where forecasters are warning of blizzard conditions.

Schools in southern Minnesota closed Thursday, including Rochester, Winona and Faribault as heavy snow and strong winds were expected to move into the region. Ten inches of snow or more was forecast for southern Minnesota with 5 to 8 inches in the Twin Cities metro area. Wind gusts of 40 mph are expected to whip up blizzard conditions in some parts of the state.

The National Weather Service posted a blizzard warning for all of south central and southeastern Minnesota. A mixture of snow, sleet and rain will turn to all snow throughout the day.
