Lonsdale Fire Department responds to Tuesday Morning Fire 30 Jul 14

A vacant motor home in Lonsdale was overcome by flames on Tuesday morning, the cause of the fire still under investigation.
 
 Just before 8:30 a.m., the Lonsdale Fire Department received a page that there was a small motor home explosion at 6655 Union Lake Trail in Lonsdale.
 
 Lonsdale Fire Chief Mike Yetzer said that when he arrived on the scene, the the flames were pretty well knocked down by firefighters from Lonsdale and that the fire was under control. 
 
At this point, the cause of the fire is undetermined and it’s an ongoing investigation, Yetzer said. He added that it is common for motor homes to have propane tanks, however, he wasn’t aware of any near the scene. The flames also caused minor damage to a shed that was located next to the motor home. Jackie Oster said her mother-in-law, Jan Oster, owns the home, and is currently in New York visiting her sister.
The Northfield Fire Department, Lonsdale Fire Department, Rice County Sheriff’s Department, and Lonsdale Police Department were all on scene.
