Robert “Orangy” Lawrence, age 59 of Henderson, passed away on Monday, December 26,

2016 at his home. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at St.

Joseph’s Catholic Church in Henderson. Visitation will also be at the church on Friday,

December 30, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on

Saturday morning one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service. Following the service, a

reception/luncheon will follow at the Henderson Road Haus & Event Center in Henderson.

Burial will be at a later time.

Orangy was born on July 10, 1957 to Harris and Mary Elizabeth (Tousignant) Lawrence in

Shakopee, MN. The family lived in the Jessenland area of Sibley County. Orangy was baptized

and confirmed at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Jessenland. He attended and graduated from

Henderson High School in 1975. Orangy was a lifetime resident of Henderson and was self-

employed as an excavator and operator of heavy equipment. He was also a member of the

Henderson Fire Department for nearly 40 years. It would be an understatement to say that he

will be missed tremendously by his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his loving life partner, Jennifer Manthei and daughter, Sarah Lawrence of

Henderson. Siblings; Joe (Margy) Lawrence, and Joan Schaaf, both of Belle Plaine. His

extended family; William and Cynthia Manthei of Henderson; Jennifer’s sisters, Jessica (Mat)

Manthei of Henderson, and Maria (Franklin) Hernandez of Columbia, MD. Nieces and

nephews; Jeremy (Serena) Witt, Rachel (Danny) Shepherd, Whitney Lawrence, Carissa

(Charles) Smith, Becky (Mike) Piotrowski, Chad (Katie) Smith, Charlie (Marcia) Schaaf. His

many friends, relatives, and the community of Henderson. He is preceded in death by his

parents and brother, Eugene “Poncho” Lawrence, and brother-in- law Bruce Schaaf.
