A Chanhassen man is in custody after allegedly attempting to rob a Victoria liquor store Mondayafternoon, according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
At 12:57 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call at Hi-Five Liquors at 1512 Commercial Ave. in Victoria.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a male suspect, later identified as , 27, allegedly entered the liquor store, approached a store employee, produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspect set the gun down to put on a glove. The store employee attempted to grab the gun and a struggle ensued.
The suspect regained control of the gun, and the store employee fled as the suspect pointed the gun at him. The suspect then fled the store. The store employee chased the suspect as he fled the store and got into a motor vehicle.
A citzen outside Hi-Five Liquors observed the suspect running away from the store and took a photograph of the man fleeing in a motor vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle description, along with the license plate, was provided to law enforcement.
Lacek was located at his residence on the 3600 block of Hickory Road in Chanhassen. Lacek was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Carver County Jail for armed robbery. A handgun was recovered at the residence and no injuries were reported to law enforcement.
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate. No other suspects are believed to be involved.
