The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse presented a check in the amount of $17,603 to Sara Fabian with the Minnesota Children’s Foundation on Wednesday.
This past September the Mounted Posse hosted the 34th annual Wagon Train for Youth event which raised the money. This is the second year the County has hosted the event and Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason said they have raised “well over $30,000 in donations” for the Minnesota Children’s Hospital.
The hospital uses the funds to support hospital service areas with the greatest need. In 2016 those areas included cancer and blood disorders, pain and palliative and Child and Family Services programs.
“(We) couldn’t be more proud of all the Posse Members who volunteered their time to make this a successful event,” Sheriff Brett Mason said in a press release. “We raised an astonishing amount and that wouldn’t have been possible without all the volunteers involved.”
The 35th Annual Wagon Train for Youth event will be held in Waseca County on Sept. 7-9.
“We hope they enjoy hosting this event as much as Le Sueur County has for the past two years,” Mason said.
