MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – A Minnesota judge has found a Missouri man guilty in the shooting deaths of three people at a Brooklyn Park home day care last year.

Hennepin County Judge Todd Barnette issued his verdict Thursday against 35-year-old Eddie Mosley after hearing the non-jury trial that ended last week.

Mosley was charged with first-degree murder in the April 9th, 2012, shooting deaths of 59-year-old DeLois Brown, a home day-care provider, and her parents, 83-year-old James Bolden Sr. and 81-year-old Clover Bolden.

Prosecutors argued Mosley drove from his home in St. Louis to Brooklyn Park intending to kill a girl he was accused of sexually assaulting in Minnesota. But the girl was not at Brown’s home. The Star Tribune reports the defense argued Mosley had no motive to kill the victims.

— Information in the following story is from: Star Tribune, http://www.startribune.com

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – The federal government has charged a convicted con artist with escape for walking away from a minimum-security prison camp in Duluth.

Sixty-seven-year-old Gerald Greenfield was charged Tuesday with one count of escape from custody.

Greenfield was apprehended after six days on the run with another convicted con artist who left the camp, 64-year-old Michael Krzyzaniak of Minneapolis.

The two were discovered missing from the prison camp on March 30. The pair was arrested April 5 at a Burnsville motel after investigators got a tip.

Krzyzaniak recently was indicted on one count of escape from custody.

If convicted, Greenfield faces a potential maximum penalty of five years in prison, which could be added to his sentence.

Greenfield’s attorney, Fred Bruno, says he’s negotiating to resolve the charge against his client.

(AP) – Minnesota OSHA is investigating why a catwalk fell inside a forestry mill near Bemidji, sending a worker to his death.

The Hubbard County sheriff’s office says 23-year-old Mitchell Harthan of Grand Rapids, Minn., fell to his death Saturday afternoon at the Potlatch Lumber Mill.

Authorities say Harthan was doing maintenance work about 40 to 50 feet overhead when a section of catwalk he was standing on fell.

Harthan died at the scene. He was a Potlatch employee for the past two years.

A Potlatch spokesman says the Spokane, Wash.-based company is “deeply saddened” by the employee’s death.

The Star Tribune reports the state ranks Potlatch as one of the safest companies operating in Minnesota. It was the company’s first fatality at the mill since it opened in 1990.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and its musicians have reached a tentative deal that would end a 6-month lockout.

Musicians and SPCO management announced the proposed contract agreement Tuesday night. The proposal will be taken to the musicians union for a vote, and concerts will return while the two sides work out details.

Musician negotiator Carole Mason Smith tells Minnesota Public Radio News her committee will recommend musicians accept the proposal.

If approved, the musicians’ annual pay will be cut by $15,000, and the orchestra will be reduced by six players to 24. However, the musicians will have greater artistic control over the SPCO’s performances and repertoire.
