Although I was born across the river in the cheese head state, my family moved to Montgomery, Minn. when I was four and we’ve lived there ever since! During my years at Montgomery-Lonsdale High School, I played volleyball, basketball and softball; participated in choir, plays and musicals; and was a member and chapter president of our local FFA. I made many life-long friends through my activities there – most of us still live in the area and get together often! I’ve tried to stay involved with FFA and in local sports as a referee, off-season coach and an avid fan of all things Redbirds.
After attending Bethel University in St. Paul, where I played volleyball and studied journalism, I moved back into my parents’ home in 2008 and continued my education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I graduated with an MA in communication studies in May, 2010, and came to work at KCHK a few weeks later. I now live in a small apartment on Cedar Lake with my cat, Moxie.
When I’m not busy here at the radio station, I like to relax by reading, watching TV and movies, and taking long naps. I enjoy coaching and playing softball and volleyball. Someday I would like to make traveling more of a hobby, and I’m currently trying to learn Italian. I love winter. I can play the piano and guitar, I can’t whistle, and I think good coffee is better than sliced bread.
